Haha.
Eh but if ade why not? But seriously, don't keep your hopes high. It's nothing like that.
You gotta settle for either one, and make do with it.
Because, your decor is the one that makes all the difference. But decor is another topic altogether. :)
I have listed the most suitable (for me) and from what I think is price appropriate.
In no selective order whatsoever.
1. The Gallery & Foyer @ Fort Canning Park
I had initially wanted to hold my side of the wedding there. But because during that time, considering the fact that our date was postponed till Gods knows when and all, I had to cancelled it and say BYE BYE to my deposit. The place was beautiful. Farely good enough to host a 800-guest reception.
Floor Area: 292.8msquare.
Could fit up to 350 pax at 1 sitting. And they allowed me to put 6 round tables outside!!
Minimum booking: 4hours
Setting up & Tearing down of your deco is at your own booked time.
But here's the good part. You thought it was expensive didnt you?
Well guess what, it wasn't. Back then in 2010.
The rate that was given to me was,
$80/hr for Weekdays (Mon-Thurs)
$100/hr for Weekends (Fri-Sun)
They allowed External Caterers, external decor companies, fully equipped sound system & lighting, air-conditioned and the place was gorgeous.
BUT TOO BAD.
And bad news, The Gallery doesn't host wedding ANYMORE wef 31st December 2012.
So i just wasted my effort blogging this place. But i just wanted to share how nice it could have been. Ah well.
2. Burkill Hall @ Singapore Botanic Garden
Firstly, this place was like having your own wedding in your own place. You have the 2 storey Hall all for your wedding. It was a nice building. It's fine on it's own. Maybe you will need like a fantastic, standout centerpieces for each table with a nice table spread and designed chairs.
Chairs and tables of course you gotta rent from your own logistics company.
Per hour: $525 (not inclusive of GST.) But if you think about it, if you do a 4-hr event, but you got the whole house by yourself, it's ok right?
Minimum booking hours: 4 ($2100)
Full payment to be done 1 month before date of event.
External Caterers are Allowed. But they have to be under the list of NEA's approved vendors.
The setback? The 2 levels are not air-conditioned, however, they have an enormous bridal room in level 2 which happens to be the ONLY room in the whole mansion that is fitted with an aircon unit.
3. Piai Plaza @ Pasir Ris Park
An ideal place for those living in the East. Walking distance to the MRT.
Full day Usage Fee (Weekdays -Mon-Thurs) $450
Full day Usage Fee (Weekends-Fri-Sun) $680
All inclusive of unlimited usage of power point & lights.
4. Lagun Sari
Probably the best place to hold a wedding because of it's practicality, The package prices are pretty good I must say. And the decor could be changed to our taste. But must add $500. Unless you're lucky enough to get your dais when they are having their chaged-up.
I have been to all the 3 levels and I must say I like Level 2 the best. Don't know why. Very cosy. Can fit 1000guest, not at 1 sitting though.
And they quoted an estimation of $12,000 for 600 pax, ALL in. Includes Wedding invitations, cake, berkat, guest book, sireh dara, DJ, photography.
Not bad really. Not bad.
5. River & Terrace Room @ Asian Civilisation Museum
Gorgeous place. Having your wedding here, you get ot have the indoor wedding in the River Room & an outdoor al-fresco at the terrace as well. The price is a bit steep though. And they allow ONLY 250 pax at 1 sitting. They allow external caterers. And for Decor, I think not much needs to be done.
Rental rates:
4 hours (9am-5pm) $4200, 8 hours ($5000)
Evening Booking (5pm-11pm) $6000, Subsequent hour: $800/hr
Maximum 20 Round Tables & Banquet Chairs provided
Basic AV Set up, 2 microphones, Projector & Screen
Technician on standby for AV available during event
6. MPH @ Goodman Arts Centre
So this one I happened to chanced upon it and I personally think it's A-mazing. I mean having your wedding at an Art's Centre is cool. Especially if you are, you know, art-ly inclined.
The space is huge. Just like a normal CC, but this one isn't air conditioned.
Area: 424sq2
Able to fit up to 23 round tables of 10. Considering your pelamin will be at the stage. Gosh, that'll be 1 huge pelamin.
Rates are different depending on your kind of work. They saggregate the rates into
- Art Tenants of GAC $215/ 4 hours.
- Artists/Arts group $375/ 4 hours
- Public/Corporate $800/ 4 hours. (Weekday)
$1200/ 4hours (Weekend)
*Take note, the rates are fixed at 4 hours basis.
7. Desa Kartika
Pretty explanatory. Good ambience. Ideal for those who wants a small, intimate wedding. Desa Kartika allows external deco. Food is good. Price is affordable. Why not??
8. Neighbourhood CC's
Well, I guess this one should be known too many.
9. Classic Void-Deck/MPH
I will go crazy on my deco if I went with this.
10. Orchard Country Club
OCC is definitely a choice for most young couples because they are always fully booked. Or maybe because whenever I asked, mesti wrong timing.
Anyways, their prices are definitely a killer but you have to understand that it's a country club and for what you're paying, it's actually a package deal.
For the Tea Foyer & Suites
Rate is From $48/person
For the Grand Ballroom
Rate is From $58/person

Prices are not fixed, the more you want, the more it is.
But I had a friend who was given a quotation and they were sweet enough to give her a few complimentary stuffs, many actually.
So for her 500 guest wedding, all inclusive, deco, food, bridal make up/outfit, wedding car, berkat, photography, videography, wedding card, wedding cake, henna, bridal room, 2nights stay at OCC, access to whole compound for photography,
A gastounding SGD$34,000.
I definitely, cannot afford it. Even if I could, I wouldn't. I would rather go for like a 3-months' getaway to Bali or Aussie or what. Geez.
